Darran McCann is an author, playwright and lecturer. Born and raised and educated in Armagh City, educated at Trinity College, Dublin, he now lives in Belfast.
His first novel, After The Lockout, was published by Fourth Estate to international acclaim in 2012. It was shortlisted for the Goldsboro Book Award. His debut play, Confession, was produced by the Accidental Theatre Company and ran at the Brian Friel Theatre, Belfast. He is currently working on his second novel, and his second play.
He Convenes and teaches on the MA in Creative Writing at the Seamus Heaney Centre, at Queen’s University, Belfast. He lives a stone’s throw from the river Lagan with his wife, Jackie, and their three children.
